Participants from Bend or points south have the option to meet at Cascades Village Mall in front of PetsMart at 7:45 AM and we can convoy or rideshare on a voluntary basis. There will be about three miles of walking with elevation change of about 300'. After introductions and a geologic orientation, we will descend into the canyon walk downstream a short distance before hiking upstream about a mile. Along the way we will discuss the relationship and dynamism of lava flows, topography and drainage. Our turn around will be the world's greatest lunch (snack) log with a view of Whychus Creek!
This trip is limited to 14 participants. All participants must be a COGS member or a guest of one and agree to the COGS liability waiver which requires all participants to self certify that they are fully vaccinated and boosted. Please leave your pets at home Contact the field trip coordinator, Derek Loeb ( DerekLoeb@gmail.com ), with questions.
