COGS Geo-Exploration: Gray Butte

Hike a 4 mile out and back trail with about 500' elevation change to examine outcrops of rhyolite tuffs and dikes associated with the Crooked River Caldera. We will meet at the Skull Hollow Day Use Parking Area and after check in and a short introduction we will drive up to Gray Butte Ridge where we will park. From there we will hike to Austin Cresson Viewpoint where we will eat lunch/snack before returning.
